How to help build a habitat for nature

We can help wildlife by building habitats. Of course, there are many habitats in the natural world, and nature doesn’t need our help. But in our gardens, for example, when we mow to keep things tidy, we are removing habitat. Organisms’ shelters and hiding places.

E can mow less frequently and leave corners – or margins that we don’t cut – so that wildlife has room to go. Also, aim to manage weeds or unwanted plants by re-designating them to a location that doesn’t bother you, not a harmful management such as weedkillers.
