Villa send demand as Brighton clear route for Bisouma transfer

Brighton midfielder Yves Bisouma has been linked with a transfer from Amex for the best part of 18 months, and this January has been no different.

The 25-year-old, currently representing his country in the Africa Cup of Nations, took to the bench in Mali’s opening match against Tunisia this afternoon.

He has been the subject of interest from Aston Villa this month as Steven Gerrard looks to put his stamp on the team.

Philippe Coutinho was through the door earlier this month and will be chased by fast left-back Lucas Digne, who is set to join Villa from Everton.

BBC have now claimed that ‘Villa are determined to strengthen their midfield’ amid reports of interest from Brighton’s Bisouma and Rangers’ Glenn Kamara.

The Athletic are suggesting Siegel will be seeking £50 million for his prized possession, despite Bisouma entering the final 18 months of his contract at the end of the season.

In an update, Brighton this afternoon recalled midfielder Moises Cassado from his loan spell with Belgian side Bairschot.

Villa identify new target after failing to secure West Ham keeper

Aston Villa were set to secure the signing of West Ham United’s Darren Randolph yesterday, but after several incidents, it looks like the club will have to pursue other goals this transfer window.

According to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, the club’s hierarchy has turned his attention to Robin Olsen of Sheffield United. Crooks wrote on Twitter: “#AVFC is now turning its attention to Robin Olsen after failing to land Darren Randolph.”

Olsen has started 11 games for Sheffield United this season and has just kept a clean sheet. However, he missed the last six matches due to a rib injury while on international duty with Sweden, where he conceded just one goal for Spain.

According to Transfermarkt, Olsen is worth just £1.8m and it is rumored that Sheffield United will cut his loan-deal due to his current injury problems.. Will give is unclear, given the fact that he will only be a back-up for Emiliano Martinez, who will be secured as the first choice in the region for Steven Gerrard.
