Mills tells Johnson to stay in the forest

Pundit Danny Mills has advised Wales star Brennan Johnson to stay in Nottingham Forest amid the interest of Leeds United.

Johnson spent last season on loan with Lincoln City and has now moved on with Forest, with the Whites believed to be keeping an eye on him.

But Mills believes a move to the Premier League may be too soon for Johnson at this stage of his career and says it should be considered after the current campaign.

“This is the way forward for all,” Mills told Football Insider,

“To go and develop young and young players which is great but sometimes you need established players.

“Football is about balance, it’s about having the right mix of people.

“It would be a good signing, but is the player going to make an impact at the back end of the season? Probably not, it’s more than one that could have an impact next season.

“It’s a big, big step up from the Championship to the Premier League.”
