Trial tells Reddit ‘child sex gang member confronted by internet justice group’

A man accused of child sex offenses was targeted in a sting by an internet group after he arranged to meet a minor girl, a court has heard.

Ehtsham Tzarab is one of six men who are on trial at Worcester Crown Court over a four-year period on charges of sexual offenses against seven vulnerable teenage girls – some of whom are under the age of 13.

The alleged crimes are said to have occurred between 2013 and 2017, in locations on Redditch including parks, woodland, alleyways, an abandoned house and cars.

A jury was told today (Wednesday, January 12) that Tzarab was detained by police after communicating with members of the Internet group Net Justice, whom they believed were children.

Tjerab is accused of attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child. He also faced four counts of attempted sexual communication with a child, after he allegedly chatted on social media with members of the Internet group Net Justice. I have denied the crimes.

Prosecutor Mark Heywood QC told jurors: “They all relate to Ehtsham Tzarab and all are related to the efforts of a group calling itself Net Justice, made up of members of the public who seek to identify such individuals. who are ready to make contact and meet from an early age. Girls for sexual purposes and to expose those men to the police.”

The Crown’s barrister said the jury would hear evidence that The Mayfields, a Redditor, allegedly used social media to contact four different “fictitious” online accounts maintained by the group to find out Let it be known that they are children’s.

In Snapchat conversation with one, whose profile said she was 13 years old and from Leeds, Tzerab alleges that he described her as “naked young” – meaning “too young”, jurors were told Was.

He is alleged to have asked the imaginary girl to “send some (pictures) here” and an image of his own erect penis.

Prosecutors claim he told another fake account “age is just a number” and asked another if he ever had sex.

Mr Heywood said following the alleged contact Net Justice arranged a meeting in February 2018 between an imaginary child and Tzrab, in a public place.

He added: “They confronted him … and shortly after Ehtsham Tzerab was arrested.”

Other sex crimes in which Tzrab and his five co-defendants are accused are alleged to have occurred in places including a park, woodland, alley, an abandoned house and cars in North Worcestershire.

Prosecutors said some of the victims, who were then in their early or mid-teens, were “simple and brutally groped” while one was raped.
